MLS has to change
Major League Soccer has finished their current season with the Dynamo Houston as the back-to-back champions and the current season in Europe is in full swing except in Russia. We saw different players come around the globe as David Beckham, Cuahtemoc Blanco, Juan Pablo Angel and Luciano Emilio came and took the league by storm, except David Beckham who was injured most of the time. But their is a problem though, the MLS has to change some of their approach if they want to be respected across the world.
Like Pelé said in a previous interview, the teams got to have full control on who they are buying and selling, not the league. The Salary Cap have to be somewhere between 15 and 25 m$ US, if they want to compete with the top leagues across the world. That would give the opportunity to the several teams across the league to sign their American satr players. That's the case in NY Red Bull land with sensational teenage star Jozy Altidore. They have to sign him to a blockbuster deal.
They also have to create rivalries like LA-Chivas USA across the league. In England they call that derbies. Like the Manchester Derby, The North London Derby and many more. Top teams and/or top markets across the US or the league have to buy several high profile players to be ranked with the English, Spanish and Italian leagues if they want to be their one day.
In my opinion they got to have their seasons like in Europe, from the autumn through the winter and spring. It would be exciting to see.
They also have to increase the number of teams to go to a single-table championship. They need to create trophies like the American SuperCup, they have a greate thing with the SuperLiga.
So, this is my opinion and I hope that it will inspire some in the league.

The MLS are talking about expansion these days. Montreal, Vancouver, Portland, NYC, Miami, Las Vegas and Atlanta are mentioned but the final spot for expansion in 2009 will go to either Philadelphia, St. Louis or Montreal.
